about me
Award winner Rocio Delgado San Miguel from Ciales, Puerto Rico lived over 28 years in the island before moving to California. She studied architecture in the Polytechnic University of PR and graduating 3 years later from Fashion Design. In 2006 she moved to San Diego, CA where she completed a BSHA and MPH.
From the diaspora, Rocio shares her passion for the island through her art, where she shares the evolution captured in her 18 years home away. Her art is full of vibrant color that transport to the island of charm. She has participated in multiple exhibitions in the US where she has make a name in the art seeing. Her medium of choice is oil painting.

Hummingbirds it stands for intelligence, beauty, devotion, and love. These little birds are also respected as fierce fighters and defenders of their territory. Hummingbirds are a symbol of good luck. Seeing a hummingbird before a major event, such as a hunting trip, or travelling to another village, was considered a good sign.
Es sinónimo de inteligencia, belleza, devoción y amor. Estos pajaritos también son respetados como feroces luchadores y defensores de su territorio. Los colibríes son un símbolo de buena suerte. The San Pedrito (Puerto Rican Tody) is indigenous or unique to Puerto Rico. It measures just over 4 inches. It inhabits humid and dry forests, secondary forests, shaded coffee plantations, mangrove swamps, and forest fringes near urban areas. It sits still on a branch until it spots prey and flies to the spot to capture it.
El San Pedrito (Puerto Rican Tody) es autóctono o único de Puerto Rico. Mide poco más de 4 pulgadas. Habita en bosques húmedos y secos, bosques secundarios, cafetales bajo sombra, manglares y franjas de bosque cerca de áreas urbanas.
